Christian Sobrino

Governor’s Representative

Mr. Sobrino began serving as President of the GDB on January 2, 2017. He also serves as Governor Rosselló’s Chief Advisor on Economic Development. From 2015 to 2016, Mr. Sobrino worked as director of the ethics and compliance program of AbbVie’s Puerto Rico affiliate. In this role, Mr. Sobrino formed part of the affiliate management team overseeing the commercial operations of the company in the Island. Prior to that, he served in the Corporate Departments of San Juan-based law firms Pietrantoni Méndez & Álvarez (PMA) from 2013 to 2015, and O’Neill & Borges from 2009-2015. At both firms, he specialized in commercial lending, financial restructuring, corporate and public finance, acquisitions and dispositions of landmark assets, and general corporate law. Mr. Sobrino holds a B.A. in English from Boston College and a J.D. from the University of Puerto Rico. He is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
